The holiday gaming season is slowly drawing to a close. Sure, we haven’t seen Prince of

Highclass 1979

Persia and Left 4 Dead yet, but with Gears 2, Fable 2, COD:WAR and Fallout 3 all
GothicMike

hitting shelves in the last 2 weeks or so, it’s safe to say that the big guns of the year have
        come and gone.

2008 was an incredible year to be a gamer. We saw the biggest launch ever with GTA IV
B1gBadDaddy

selling over 6 million copies in the first week, PS3 finally got their “Grade A” exclusives
F and A Eternal

with MGS4 and Little Big Planet and the 360 kept on rolling strong with titles like Gears 2
Weediman

and Fable 2. Even Nintendo kicked some gamer ass with Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros
Yodathe3rd

and Wii Fit selling about a gazillion copies each.

I have read many articles and listened to more than one podcaster complain about the
difficulty (or lack of ) of modern games and how “It’s not like the good old days”. You
know those days, back when you pumped quarter after quarter into the arcade machine to
keep “continuing”. The days when you started off with 3 lives and earned extra lives as
you went along, all the while the difficulty level was going off the charts!

As far as gaming is concerned, I've been around the block a few times and it’s safe to say
I’m not one a mother approves of. However, in the last few months, I’m fast finding that
the Xbox 360 is becoming my home, my beacon for games to get stuck into. I got my Wii
last Christmas and already the amount of Xbox games I have is starting to outweigh my
Wii collection—and I’m not one to trade games, either.

It looks as though we may finally be getting our hands on PlayStation Home in the near
future. This week, Sony announced that Qore annual subscribers will get access to the
elusive closed-beta that has been running since April 2007.

So now that we have a release date, only one question is left unanswered: Does anyone
