Chops-Suey
The Good: Anyone writing a review about Assassin's Creed needs to start
with the graphics and visuals of this game. It is one of the best looking
games I've ever played. Set in the 12th century in the middle east during the
bloody era of the Crusaders and the Knights Templar. You play Altaïr, a
nimble and incredibly athletic assassin's who sets out on his missions in 3
beautiful (and supposedly historically accurate) cities. The story has enough
to keep you trekking through. The "Leap of Faith" maneuver in the game is
probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a game.
The Bad: The side quests you must complete before each of your planned
assassinations get old very quickly. After playing through 75% of the game,
I usually had the urge to just run around and kill guards and explore the city
more then actually going through with the same old pickpocket or
eavesdropping quest. The city chatter also got on my nerves about half way
through the game, since it always seemed like the same guy or girl who was
screaming no matter where I went. Also... the beggars accomplish their role
incredibly. If that role was to piss the shit our of you every 30 seconds or so.
Overall: The amount of time you can spend just running, horseback riding,
or sneaking in this beautiful game makes it worth every penny of a buy. The
game feels like GTA in the 12th century. And the flag collecting allows even
more reason to explore every inch of every map. Especially if you want to
get the achievements on the 360 version.
